Ahead of the start of the Budget Session on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed optimism that India would achieve its goal of Viksit Bharat (Developed India), infusing new energy and hope into the nation.
In his customary pre-session address to the media, PM Modi emphasized his reverence for Maa Lakshmi, the deity symbolizing wealth and prosperity. Reflecting on the significance of invoking blessings, he stated, “I pray that Maa Lakshmi continues to bless the poor and middle class of our country.”
Highlighting India’s milestone of completing 75 years as a democratic nation, PM Modi underscored the nation’s global stature and its journey towards economic resilience and progress. He added, “This is the first complete budget of my third term. I am confident that by 2047, as India celebrates 100 years of Independence, we will achieve our goal of Viksit Bharat, energizing 1.4 billion citizens.”
Focusing on the strategic pillars of his administration’s economic agenda, PM Modi outlined, “Innovation, inclusion, and investment are our roadmap to holistic development. This session will witness deliberations on several historic bills aimed at transforming our economy.” He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts between the central and state governments to catalyze this transformation.
Addressing the youth of the nation, PM Modi emphasized their pivotal role in shaping Viksit Bharat, saying, “Our nation is youthful, and today’s 25-26-year-olds will reap the benefits of a developed India when they are 45-46.” He encouraged young Members of Parliament to actively participate in advancing legislative reforms and economic policies during this session.
Concluding his address, PM Modi expressed confidence in meeting the expectations of the people, stating, “In this budget session, every MP will contribute towards strengthening Viksit Bharat. Together, we will ensure that our actions align with the aspirations of the nation.”
